Terms of use
Last updated: 2 May 2026
1. What DocShelf is
DocShelf is a free, open-source Flutter app that helps you store and organize documents on your own device. It is provided as-is, with no warranty.
2. Your responsibility
You are responsible for:
- The documents you choose to store in the app.
- Backing up your
/DocShelf/folder periodically. - Keeping your phone's lock-screen PIN / biometric private — that's the only barrier between someone with your unlocked phone and your DocShelf folder.
- Complying with any laws that apply to documents in your jurisdiction.
3. No warranty
DocShelf is offered without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The author is not liable for data loss, file corruption, missed reminders, or any other consequence of using the app. If a passport renewal reminder fails to fire — that is unfortunate, and we'll fix the bug, but you should not rely solely on DocShelf for time-critical actions.
4. Not a legal, financial, or institutional advisor
DocShelf stores files. It does not interpret them, give legal advice, file your taxes, transact with any government agency, or represent any organization. References in the app to documents like "Aadhaar", "PAN", "ITR", "RC", "NDA", "Marksheet", or "Lesson Plan" are descriptive only — DocShelf is not affiliated with any government, employer, school, insurance company, or other institution.
5. Open source
The full source code is at github.com/mulgundsunil1918/Docshelf under the MIT license. You are free to read, fork, modify, and redistribute it.
